Audubon City Hall gets a new address just in time for Halloween. City Clerk Joe Foran it’s a win-win situation because the building they currently occupy is showing its age.
Moving city hall around the corner to 315 Broadway Street means extra elbowroom inside and a higher profile address outside.
The current tenant of the building, Audobon State Bank, is in favor of keeping downtown robust and invigorated.
To make the move easier, the bank also left the new site furnished. This means just files and coffee cups will be moved.
Foran foresees having new roommates too. That is because all the extra room at the new city hall should mean more departments can be housed in one spot.
What will become of the current city hall? Foran had some speculation on what the future holds.
