Probation Revoked For Man Convicted In Carroll County District Court Of Indecent Contact With A Child

A man convicted in Carroll County District Court of inappropriately touching a juvenile victim nearly a decade ago has been ordered to serve time in prison after his probation was revoked. Thirty-seven-year-old Paul Matthew Synowiecki pled guilty to indecent contact with a child, an aggravated misdemeanor, in May 2022. The charge stems from a Carroll County Sheriff’s Office investigation that found Synowiecki inappropriately touched a juvenile female victim’s inner thigh while staying overnight at a home in Ralson in August 2014. Synowiecki was initially sentenced to two years in prison, but he was instead placed on probation for two years to the Iowa Department of Corrections. Authorities found Synowiecki violated the terms of his probation by failing to complete required alcohol testing. A judge terminated Synowiecki’s probation following a hearing Thursday and imposed the original two-year prison sentence.
