Jefferson Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing $250K+ In Jefferson Burglary

A Jefferson man faces multiple felony charges following his arrest Wednesday for allegedly stealing over $250,000 in goods following a multi-agency burglary investigation. Forty-six-year-old Bryce Randal Delaney is being held on first-degree theft, a class C felony, and additional charges are pending. Authorities say a Grand Junction resident reported an Oct. 13 burglary from a property in the 400 block of S. Olive Street in Jefferson. The victim claims a substantial amount of goods were taken in the incident, including approximately $250,000 in gold and silver coins, proof sets, gold and silver bars, cash, and valuable jewelry. Law enforcement located a suspect vehicle in the 300 block of S. Locust Street just before 3 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Jefferson Police Department monitored the vehicle until the suspects emerged from a nearby residence and approached the truck. Delaney and an unidentified resident were taken into custody without incident. Law enforcement then searched the residence, where most of the stolen coins and jewelry were recovered. Additionally, authorities seized meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia from the home. More criminal charges are expected as the investigation continues.
