Charges filed in Carroll County District Court against a Glidden man accused of accosting a group of construction workers while brandishing a firearm have been dismissed. Court records show 60-year-old Alexander Calderon was initially charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, in connection to an alleged July 28 incident in the 100 block of S. Idaho Street in Glidden. Authorities alleged Calderon threatened a group of roofers with an H&R 732 revolver over the noise and trash they were generating. On Thursday, a judge approved a motion from county prosecutors to dismiss the charge due to “insufficient evidence available to convict the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt.” Associated court costs were assessed to the state.
