DOT Confirms Hwy 30 Closure Between Carroll And Glidden To Begin Nov. 6

Officials with the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) have confirmed a section of U.S. Highway 30 between Carroll and Glidden will be closed beginning next week. Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, crews will begin the emergency replacement of an under-road culvert, which will require the highway to be closed to through traffic for approximately seven to 10 days. An 11-mile detour route has been established that will take traffic north on Timber Avenue, west on 160th Street through Lidderdale, and south back to the highway on Quail Avenue. Motorists should expect delays, as this is a highly traveled section of roadway, and officials anticipate at least one temporary stoplight will be necessary on Quail Avenue due to bridge restrictions.
