The Carroll County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution during their meeting yesterday (Monday), backing an initiative supporting veterans for the second consecutive year. The board voted unanimously for the county to back Operation Green Light. Board Chair Stephanie Hausman explains the program.
Operation Green Light officially runs from Monday, Nov. 6 through Sunday, Nov. 12. The Carroll County Courthouse will be lit in green during the evening hours of that week, and Hausman encourages Carroll County residents to join in as well.
Operation Green Light is a nationwide effort promoted by the National Association of Counties in conjunction with the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers. Veterans Day this year is Saturday, Nov. 11.
