Mary Jane Reineke, 73 of Panora and formerly of Carroll, died Friday, October 27, 2023 at Panora Specialty Care in Panora, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
Following the service a luncheon will be held in the Sharp Center.

Mary Jane Reineke, the daughter of Carroll Harlan Birch and Rita Mae Goetzinger (Birch) was born on August 15, 1950, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.
in 1971, Mary was united in marriage to James Hansen. They were blessed with 3 boys: Christopher James Hansen, Timothy Allen Hansen and Charles Anthony Hansen. In November of ’87 Mary had a daughter, Amanda Reineke. Mary was a stay-at-home mother most of her life. She Moved to Carroll in the spring of ’97 to help care for her Mother Rita. Mary had many hobbies including working crossword puzzles, going to church, babysitting, coloring, and writing letters to friends & family, watching tv, being with friends & family, listening to Tracey Lawrence music, and enjoying time with her fur babies.
Up until October of 2020, Mary was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Parish in Carroll, and from there on up until her death Mary made her home at Panora Specialty Care in Panora, Iowa.
Mary is preceded into death by her parents (Carroll and Rita Birch), 2 brothers John (Jack) Birch, James (Jim) Birch), a nephew (John Birch Jr.) and many aunt/uncles.
Mary is survived by: Brother, Dan (Donna) Birch of Altoona; Sister Melissa (Robert) Golden of Harlan, Sons: Christopher (Fine) Hansen of San Bernardino, CA, Timothy (Kate) Hansen of Council bluffs, Charles (Christy) Hansen of Carroll; Daughter, Amanda Reineke of Lennox; 4 Grandchildren, Brandon Barrett of Creston, Malakai Hansen Of Council Bluffs, Malayla (Jared) Hansen of Council Bluffs, Heavenly Hansen of Carroll; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends
