An Audubon man was killed Friday afternoon following a truck/motorcycle crash in Dallas County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Iowa Highway 141, about 3.5 miles east of Jamaica near the intersection with C Avenue. Authorities say 64-year-old Gary Bugger of Boone was westbound in a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup and attempted to make a lefthand turn onto C Avenue. During the turn, Bugger failed to yield to an eastbound 2010 BMW F800ST motorcycle, operated by 56-year-old Daniel Royce Beattie. The Beattie motorcycle collided with the Bugger truck, ejecting Beattie into the south ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dallas and Guthrie County Sheriff’s Offices and Dallas County Emergency Medical Services assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
