The deadline to register for the delivery of a free Christmas meal from the Carroll Masonic Lodge is tomorrow (Thursday). Joe Reed from the Signet Lodge says the Masons have offered this meal for years to celebrate the season and promote a sense of fellowship in the community.
Again, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Carroll County phone number is 712-792-4212. Due to office closures for the holiday, requests must be submitted by noon on Thursday. Reed says they will begin serving food at mid-day on Christmas for those opting to join the Carroll Masons in person.
The Carroll Masonic Lodge is located at 2002 Highway 71 N, across from J.P. Flooring and Windstar Lines. Reed adds there is also a need for volunteers to help prepare and serve the food on Christmas.
Anybody with questions about helping out can contact Reed by calling 712-292-8307. He says the Masons’ Christmas meal serves a surprising number of people, with as many as 15 turkeys prepared for attendees. Reed credits a number of local businesses for making the free meal possible.
