A Carroll student is one of 45 recipients of a $1,000 award from the Iowa Student Loan (ISL) Education Lending Scholarship from the Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corporation. Erin Lenz was chosen from over 12,000 parent and student registrations submitted during the fall. During this process, these Iowans were introduced to financial literacy topics related to paying for college, and winners received a $1,000 contribution to their College Savings Iowa 529 account for eligible family members. These 529 accounts are state-sponsored plans that encourage savings for higher education. While this latest giveaway has passed, another opportunity to win opens on Jan. 8.
