Saturday morning, Sept. 24, the Carroll Public Library is hosting a Story Walk beginning at 10 a.m. at the South Shelter House in Swan Lake State Park. Children’s Services Librarian, Diane Tracy, and library mascot, Dr. Whoot, will be leading the walk and reading “The Gruffalo” by Julia Donaldson. “The Gruffalo” is a children’s book about a mouse using smarts to make its way through the forest. Attendees can imagine the scene during the walk through Swan Lake’s nature trails. The Carroll County Wellness Coalition’s F.R.E.S.H. trailer will be on site to provide refreshments. No registration is required for the event, but the Carroll Public Library requests those wanting to come be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.
