Dianne Mary Feltner, daughter of Edmund and Evelyn (Harpenau) Miller, was born December 24th, 1943, in Sioux City, Iowa. At the age of seven, Dianne and her family moved to LeMars, Iowa, where she attended Gehlen Catholic School, graduating in 1962. After graduation, Dianne attended cosmetology school in Sioux City, Iowa, becoming licensed in 1963. She then moved to Carroll, Iowa and attended the Antonian School of Nursing, where she became licensed in 1965.
A year later, Dianne was united in marriage to LaVerne (Larry) J. Feltner on May 14th, 1966, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars, Iowa. They began their life together in Carroll where Dianne worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for St. Anthony Regional Hospital and the Carroll Health Center for nine years.
From 1974 to 1981, she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom to her three boys, Mike, Mark, and Marty. In 1981, Dianne returned to work as a receptionist for the Family Health Clinic, greeting patients with her beautiful smile and infectious personality. In 1989, Dianne began working at St. Anthony Regional Hospital as an Office Manager in the Physical/Occupational Therapy Department until she retired from the medical profession.
Her retirement was spent with family, as they all meant so much to her, especially being able to spend more time with her only grandchild, Lauren. Dianne also loved spending time with her many friends. From hosting fish fry’s and playing cards with her Card Club, to shopping with her girlfriends and numerous camping trips, she thrived on being active. Dianne enjoyed sports and always cheered on her favorite Carroll high schools and college teams, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Iowa State Cyclones and Creighton Bluejays. Giving back to her community was a priority as well. She was an active member of the St. Lawrence Guild and a retired member of the Carroll Firebelles.
