This morning (Wednesday), the Sac County Conservation opened up registration for its upcoming summer camps, serving children from preschool through fourth grade to learn about the outdoors through hands-on learning experiences. Jackie Lingle, Naturalist with Sac County Conservation, says each camp group will meet once for June and again in July, with each camp focusing on a specific topic.
Lingle says she divided the grade levels into groups, and each section has two different dates that can be chosen to accommodate the busy summer schedules. Only a certain number of campers will be able to participate, so Lingle says to register soon to ensure placement.
Registers can fill out a form using the link included below. Students must be signed up for one of the camps available in June and July. Campers are requested to bring a sack lunch and a water bottle, but snacks will be provided. Lingle says the camps will be outdoors to allow for an in-person experience in nature.
Another program offered is Knee-highs, which Lingle says is for children two to five years old who have not gone through kindergarten. This hour-long program requires an adult to accompany the camper.
Times, dates, and prices for each summer camp have been included below. For additional information, contact Lingle by email at jlingle@saccountyiowa.gov.
