The Iowa Department of Public Safety (DPS) introduced its revamped website yesterday (Tuesday) as part of an initiative to streamline the state’s online presence and enhance user experience. With over 100,000 monthly visitors, DPS aims to simplify navigation and improve accessibility to its wide range of services, including criminal background checks, weapon permits, missing person reports, school safety resources, and crash reports. DPS Strategic Communications Bureau Chief Tawny Kruse says, “We’re excited about the new website’s ability to foster improved communication with the communities we serve. Our goal is to provide a user-friendly platform that is an invaluable resource for public safety and awareness.” The updated website retains its original URL, and old bookmarks should automatically redirect to the new page. Iowans are encouraged to explore the redesigned website at https://dps.iowa.gov.
