Iowa Fuel Report: May 29, 2024

Fuel prices in the state trickled lower in this week’s fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, May 30, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.27, down three cents from last week and 11 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was down three cents to $3.58 per gallon. Retail diesel prices dipped two cents on the week to a statewide average of $3.58 per gallon, compared to $3.70 per gallon this time last year. The national average remains 30 cents above Iowa prices at $3.88. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16. In heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site rose two cents to $2.71 per MMBtu.
