A Broken Water Pipe At Telecommunications Center In Des Moines Causes Multiple Landline Issues For Users Across Iowa

Multiple businesses, residents, and emergency service providers throughout the state, including in the Carroll Broadcasting listening area, are having an interruption of landline phone services. The issues started early this morning (Thursday) after a water pipe broke at a telecommunication company, Lumen Technologies’, Des Moines location. While crews are working to restore landline power, multiple emergency communication services have been impacted, including St Anthony Regional Hospital’s landline here in Carroll. Until services are resorted, anyone in an emergency is asked to call from a mobile phone, as 9-1-1 calls can be received from wireless phones. Those needing to contact the St. Anthony Clinic can call the temporary phone number at 712-794-5250. It is still unclear when power will be restored to landlines effected at this time.
