Carroll County officials announced today (Tuesday) the appointment of Mark Beardmore of Carroll to fill a vacancy on the Carroll County Board of Supervisors. The appointment, which is determined by a three-person committee consisting of the Carroll County Treasurer, Recorder, and Auditor, selected Beardmore from three applicants based on his previous experience in municipal government. Beardmore previously served two terms as the District 5 Carroll County Supervisor from 2009 to 2016 and as Carroll City Mayor for one term, which ended Dec. 31, 2023. Beardmore will hold the seat previously held by Cindy Scaturico through Nov. 11. The winner of the Nov. 5 general election, which features Republican Mark McCrea of Carroll and Democrat Cindy Johnson of Carroll, will take office once the election results are canvassed.
