Carroll County Conservation is kicking off the Halloween season early this weekend with the third annual Haunted Bison Hollow at Swan Lake State Park. Conservation Education Coordinator Kristen Bieret says they have a fun afternoon and evening planned for Saturday, Sept. 28, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday also marks the season finale of the Pella Summer Concert Series at the amphitheater. Bieret says there are at least a few activities for people of all ages and interests to enjoy, and the best part is that most of the offerings are completely free.
Activity begins to wind down at Swan Lake State Park in the fall, and the campground typically closes for the year sometime in October depending on the weather. Bieret says they host Haunted Bison Hollow a bit early to capitalize on the final days of Swan Lake’s busy season.
Bieret also thanks Haunted Bison Hollow’s sponsors for helping keep the event free for families to enjoy. More information about this weekend’s festivities at Swan Lake State Park are included below.
