German Culture To Be Celebrated Oct. 5 At Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park

The Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park is celebrating annual Oktoberfest activities and the 25th anniversary of the German Hausbarn reconstruction on Sat. Oct. 5. Most events will be located at the historical park from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., featuring the Willow Creek Carriage Classic, German dancers, keg tapping, live music, and the famous German authentic meal. A meal ticket is $20 per person, and reservations are required. Reservations need to be made by this upcoming Monday by calling 712-655-3131. Other events will include the showing of “1500- The Story of Manning” documentary at 1:00 p.m., the 25th celebration program with cake at 2:00 p.m., and Main Street Manning’s second annual Scavenger hunt from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Teams of 4-6 will test their city knowledge to solve riddles of locations around the Manning community. Participation in the scavenger hunt is $25 per person and includes the German meal at Hausbarn after. To register, text Sydney Macumber at 712-790-0192. Again, Saturday, Oct. 5, will be the annual Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park’s Oktoberfest and 25th Anniversary of Reconstruction. Celebrate German culture with horses, music, and, of course, drinks and fun.
