The IKM-Manning Middle School is this year’s 2024 School Mascot Challenge winner from the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative (HSI). Students, staff, and community members supported the district, advancing the middle school through five weeks of voting to the final round. IKM-Manning won by 158 votes and will receive $1,000 for their school’s health and wellness program project. The winner was announced yesterday (Wednesday) after the 14th annual Healthiest State Walk. Iowa HSI and Delta Dental of Iowa were able to promote at least one registered walk in all 99 counties and have raised $5,210 to support more programs and initiatives through the nonprofit organization.
