The Carroll County Board of Supervisors meets Monday morning for their regularly scheduled weekly meeting, and the two-mile zoning area around Carroll is once again on its agenda. The board convenes at 9 a.m. in the supervisors’ meeting room at the courthouse. The first item of business will be to review a letter of suggestions for proposed changes to the zoning agreement between the county and the City of Carroll. Currently, the city manages zoning, inspections, and permit issuance in the two miles surrounding the community, but there has been a push from residents who live within the zone to reduce or eliminate the agreement. The board is tentatively scheduled to meet with city officials later this month to discuss the issue further. Other items on Monday’s agenda include a Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 urban renewal report, a letter from the supervisors to the Rolling Hills Community Services Region to return some of the county’s investment into real estate, discussions and potential action of the future of the Carroll County Compensation Board, and setting a public hearing for a rezoning request.
