The Carroll County Republicans are hosting a parade this weekend in support of former President Donald Trump as he seeks a second, nonconsecutive term in the White House. Participants will gather at Swan Lake State Park’s east shelter house at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, where Hy-Vee will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and a drink for attendees. The parade begins at 1 p.m., and the route will take vehicles out of Swan Lake’s east entrance, north on Noble Avenue, west on 210th Street, and continuing west on Pleasant Ridge Road. The path then moves north along Hidden Valley Road onto Timberline Road and Main Street, where they’ll head west on 10th Street to Salinger Avenue before heading back south to 8th Street and ending at the Carroll County Republican Headquarters on Highway 30. After the parade, attendees can gather at Republican Headquarters across from Hy-Vee for refreshments provided by the Carroll County Republican Women, including bars, cookies, coffee, and water, as well as comments from local Republican candidates.
