ISU, DMACC Partner In New Nursing Training Program

Iowa State University (ISU) and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) have launched a new nursing partnership to address the state’s growing demand for healthcare professionals. The 3+1 nursing articulation agreement allows DMACC students to complete three years of coursework for their Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing and then seamlessly transfer to ISU to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in one additional year. The program, which is set to begin in the fall 2025 term, offers flexibility for nursing students, allowing them to continue working while completing their BSN online. DMACC President Rob Denson says, “Many of DMACC’s successes involve partnerships with businesses, communities, and institutions of higher education, and nowhere is this collaboration more important or impactful than our partnership with Iowa State University. DMACC and ISU have collaborated many times over the years, and we are proud to partner once again to support student success and address workforce needs.” A link with more information on the new partnership is included below.
