The City of Manning is gearing up for the holiday season with a full slate of activities planned for the weeks ahead. Manning Main Street will celebrate Weinachtsfest, or “Christmas festival” when translated from German, on Friday, Nov. 29. Programming is slated for 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening and includes food, kid’s entertainment, a lighted parade, and a visit from Santa himself. The following weekend, on Sunday, Dec. 8, the Manning Rotary will host their annual tour of homes, which includes four beautifully decorated homes in the community and the historic Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $20 each and are available at the First National Bank of Manning or Templeton Savings Bank. Money raised from the Rotary’s Tour of Homes will be used to support scholarships for IKM-Manning students and educational programs within the district.
