Tomorrow (Thursday) is the annual Holly Jolly Reading Drive in Carroll, a nearly 20-year-old tradition for the community that aims to get more books into children’s hands this Christmas. The Holly Jolly Reading Drive was started close to two decades ago by Luanna Kustra and her daughter, Katie. Kustra says a simple observation led to the drive’s creation.
Kustra says the response from New Opportunities’ clients has been so positive that it has since become an almost year-round affair. However, tomorrow (Thursday) is one of the biggest days of the year for book collections.
Kustra says they have relatively few requirements for book donations.
Those unable to drop books off Thursday night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Godfather’s on Highway 30 in Carroll can contact Kustra directly by calling 712-790-5244 and arranging a donation.
