Charlotte Lorraine Avey, age 86, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Accura Healthcare in Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Angelo Luis officiating. Casket bearers will be Charlotte’s family members.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5 – 7 P.M. on Thursday. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 – 10:45 A.M. on Friday prior to the service.

Charlotte was born on June 15, 1938 in Audubon, IA, and she was the daughter of Edward and Jane (Potter) Lebeck. She grew up on a farm near Audubon and graduated from Audubon High School. She was married to Norman Avey and to this union two sons were born Norman Eugene and Michael Dean. She moved to Carroll in the early 1970’s and worked for Community Opportunities for 26 years as an executive secretary. Charlotte had many friends and loved to socialize.
Charlotte is survived by her two sons: Norman Eugene “Gene” Avey (Debbie Gonyaw-Avey) of Aiken, SC, and Michael Dean Avey of Council Bluffs, IA; two grandchildren: Cameron Avey of Lincoln, NE, and Garret Avey of California; a great-granddaughter Kaylee; two brothers: Ronald Lebeck of Audubon and Wayne Lebeck (Pat) of Audubon; a sister-in-law Sherry Lebeck of Atlantic; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family members.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Jane Lebeck; four brothers: Jerry (Carol), Dick (Marvel), Don (Dorothy), and Kenny; a daughter-in-law Debra Ann Avey; and a sister-in-law Mavis Lebeck.
