A New Mental Health Support Group Will Be Offered At ACMH As Additional Health Resource

With the beginning of a new year, many individuals start to prioritize health and look for ways to promote overall well-being, including mental health support. Touching Lives Center, LLC is a medical practice group with locations in Carroll and Audubon that specializes in assisting patients with resources and services to improve one’s mental health. “Creating Hope Together” is a twice a month support group that is offered at Audubon County Memorial Hospital, giving individuals a free tool and making mental health support more easily accessible. Facilitator for the support group Peter Youngren says while as a patient receiving services at Touching Lives Center, he wanted to create a safe place for individuals to come forward and to help others the same way he was through challenges in his life.

The support group is offered on the first and third Monday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. at ACMH’s Community Health Center. Youngren says this group is open to anyone wanting to gain a better understanding of mental health and says its super simple to participate.

Youngren says there will be a wide range of topics that will be discussed at each meeting.

Anyone with additional questions is encouraged to contact Youngren using the contact points included with this story on carrollbroadcasting.com, or reach out via Facebook. Again, the Touching Lives Center, LLC Creating Hope Together mental health support group is available the first and third Monday of each month, with the next group meeting on Jan. 20 starting at 5 p.m. at ACMH’s Community Health Center.
