A Pomeroy man has been placed on probation following a guilty verdict of sexually abusing a fourteen-year-old girl. According to Calhoun County District Court records, 36-year-old Jamie Lee Peed was found guilty by a jury of peers of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, for engaging in sex acts with a juvenile female in 2015 when he was 27 years old. After his motion of a new trial was denied, Peed’s sentence of ten years in prison was suspended, and instead placed on probation for a period of five years. Peed was still ordered to be registered on the sex offender registry and following his completion of probation will be under supervision as if on parole for the reminder of his life.
