Gov. Reynolds Extends Iowa’s Harvest Proclamation Through March 8

Gov. Kim Reynolds has extended a proclamation easing weight limits on the transportation of agricultural products, allowing farmers and haulers to transport heavier loads without permits. The order signed by the governor on Thursday pushes the end date back to Saturday, March 8. The proclamation applies to vehicles carrying corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage, stover, fertilizer, and manure. It permits loads up to 90,000 pounds gross weight on Iowa highways, excluding the interstate system. Haulers must still adhere to maximum axle weight limits and posted restrictions on roads and bridges. By extending the proclamation, Iowa’s agricultural industry can continue efficiently transporting ag-related products. The extension takes effect immediately, and the full order is included below.
