Crawford County Bridge Closure On Highway 30 Near Dow City To Begin March 31

Motorists traveling on U.S. Highway 30 near Dow City should prepare for detours starting at the end of the month. Beginning Monday, March 31, the bridge over the Boyer River along U.S. Highway 30 will close for a bridge deck replacement project, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT). The bridge, located just under a mile east of Crawford County Road M-14, is expected to remain closed until late September, weather permitting. During construction, drivers will need to follow a marked detour using U.S. Highway 59 and Crawford County Road E-59. The Iowa DOT urges drivers to exercise caution in the work zone, obey posted speed limits, and stay alert. Traffic fines for moving violations in work zones are doubled.
