A statewide tornado drill is planned for 10 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning. Most cities and counties plan to participate in the drill, so it is likely most Iowans will hear weather sirens begin to sound. This morning’s drill is intended to be more than just a test for the equipment. Businesses, schools, and households are encouraged to participate by developing their own plan for where they will shelter in the event of severe weather and ensuring each employee, team member, or family member knows where that safe spot is. Again, Iowa’s statewide tornado drill is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26. More information on registering for the state’s Alert Iowa notification system is included below.
