Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids is bringing experts to the area to help citizens learn more about artifacts they have discovered. On Saturday, Feb. 25, Joe Artz and Charie Haury-Artz, two archaeological specialists, will be available to examine items and share information on the objects brought in. Joe and Charie both have a master’s in archaeology from the University of Kansas, and will be able to share information on the objects brought in such as how old it is, where it came from, how it was used and the people that used it. They will be reviewing objects from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and at 3 p.m. they will give a presentation about the most interesting items brought in. Participants do not need to bring an item in to attend, and the event is open to the public.
