The entire month of May marks a time to recognize a variety of different areas of healthcare, and St. Anthony Regional Hospital is celebrating their role in providing healthcare, promoting healthy lifestyles and caring for their patients as an integral part of the communities they serve. This week is not only National Hospital Week, it is also National Nurses Week. The theme for National Hospital Week is “The Healing Heart of Healthcare” and will include activities for St. Anthony employees including a breakfast, a grill out, an ice cream social and a t-shirt day. National Nurses Week’s theme is “Nursing: The Balance of Mind, Body and Spirit.” They will be treated to a taco lunch and ice cream day as well as celebration Sandy Cayler’s selection as one of 2017’s 100 Great Iowa Nurses. “During National Nurses Week, we would like to extend a special thanks to Sandy Cayler and each of our nurses as they continue to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients,” said CEO, Ed Smith. “They deserve special recognition for their efforts in delivering compassionate care while embodying the principles of ethical practice in the healthcare profession.” Next week, May 14 through May 20, St. Anthony Nursing Home will be recognized during National Nursing Home Week, with a theme of “The Spirit of America.
