The Seymour Community School District suffered severe damage when a tornado struck the building on March 6. The middle school sustained the most damage, which included the loss of many of the school’s Acer Chromebooks. In an effort to get help students return quickly to learning, Acer has donated 100 C720 Chromebooks, valued at $25,000 to the district. Students are able to use them at their temporary facility while repairs continue at the school. “We truly appreciate the partnership and support from Acer during this time of need for our school district and students,” says Principal Jamie Houser. “The Chromebook donation enabled our students to focus on learning and get back to their studies almost immediately after the school suffered significant damage.” While many physical items have been lost, the new Acer Chromebooks allow students the ability to access their previously saved papers, projects, files and online textbooks on the Cloud.
