St. Anthony Regional Hospital has welcomed a new practitioner to the St. Anthony Clinic with the addition of Neurologist Blanca Marky, M.D. Dr. Marky, who started in her new role on Monday, will be assisting patients with their general neurology needs, including issues with headaches and numbness, treatments following a stroke, multiple sclerosis, dementia, epilepsy and more. She will also be performing neurological treatments including electroencephalograms (EEG) and Botox injections. Dr. Marky says she is excited about working with patients in Carroll and that she has always been fascinated by neurology, but the part of her career she enjoys most is the people she serves. “In my position,” Marky says, “I feel that the more a patient understands his or her condition, the better they can live with, and hopefully overcome, the challenge. I set clear expectations and surround each patient with care and understanding.” Dr. Marky brings more than two decades of medical experience to St. Anthony, most recently working as a neurologist for Medical associates in Dubuque. She has been an attending physician in Colorado, Iowa and South Dakota as well as a professor in Nebraska and Mexico. She completed her residency at the University of Nebraska, the University of Texas and Kansas University. Dr. Marky is a native of Mexico City, Mexico and will be able to use her fluency in Spanish, French and English to communicate with and serve patients in our area. She and her husband, Luis Marky, Ph.D, have recently relocated to Carroll.
