The Lake City City Council is forming a committee to investigate the possibility of renovating the Lake City Community building. At a meeting earlier this week, a group of citizens proposed the idea to the council. In response to the proposal, Lake City Mayor, Tyler Holm, is forming a committee. City Administrator, Eric Wood, says the committee’s role is to put together a full action plan for the potential renovation.
Wood says any renovations will be difficult because of the building’s status as a state historical site.
Plans are only in the very early stages, and Wood says they are not yet certain if a renovation will even take palce.
The committee will consists of six to seven people. They will report back to the council on their findings in approximately seven months’ time.
