A Storm Lake woman has been arrested after dropping a baby off on a doorstep Wednesday. At approximately 5:15 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of North Senaca Street. The resident reported that earlier that day, around 2:42 p.m., 22-year-old Deeanna Ramos had left her three-month-old daughter on the doorstep and then left the area. Ramos had reportedly sent a text message to the resident, stating she was going to drop off the child. After receiving the message, they then went to the front door and found the baby alone in a car seat. At approximately 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night, police located Ramos at her home and took her into custody. She has been charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. Ramos was booked into the Buena Vista County jail and held on a $2,000 bond. Details about the incident have been forwarded to the Department of Human Resources.
