Gina Badding is one of three newly elected Carroll Community School Board members and says she was excited about the good voter turnout for Tuesday’s election. She also said she thought it was great for the community and the school that there were five highly qualified candidates wanting to work for the benefit of the school system in Carroll.
There is little time to waste for all the new board members as their first meeting will take place on Sept. 21, and Badding says they have all begun preparing for the role. In addition to a blog and updates from Superintendent Rob Cordes, she plans on meeting with current board members for suggestions and advice on how to prepare for her new role. Badding said her profession as a lawyer will also lead her to some additional research into legal code sections that deal with school board members’ duties. Badding added that she has heard from many community members on issues and on their support of her candidacy, and she is thankful for the support she has received.
