The Glidden City Council has voted to install additional security measures at their offices in city hall. City officials reviewed a $1,240 bid to install remote electronic door locks from Feld Security in Carroll. City Clerk, Suzy Danner, says the main difference residents will notice is that they will no longer be able to just walk straight into the offices.
She adds the switch to electronic locks will not require any major renovations, and the installation should be completed relatively quickly. According to Danner, the change is not a result of any specific incident, but rather, just updating the office to match other similar agencies.
The city council agreed the improvements were needed and voted unanimously to approve the bid. The new locks are expected to be installed later this summer.
