Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) in Lake City is pleased to announce that Wolfe Eye Clinic’s Dr. Steven O. Anderson, has become the latest addition to their staff. Dr. Anderson will be providing cataract evaluation and treatment, including surgery, glaucoma evaluation and treatment and treatment of other ocular disorders. He has been practicing ophthalmology for over 20 years, with a focus on cataract surgery, including complex cataract cases, and medical and surgical glaucoma management. He has previously served as a clinical instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota and he teaches resident physicians eye surgery at the VA Hospital in Minnesota. In 2008, Dr. Anderson founded Global Eye Mission, an organization to facilitate the development of long-term eye programs around the world. He and his family even spent five years living in Indonesia while he developed a similar program on the island of Borneo. Dr. Anderson has been seeing patients with Wolfe Eye Clinic since August of this year and he will be serving patients in Lake City every third Wednesday of the month.
