DMACC One Of Five Iowa Colleges Offering Programs To Help Staff Repay Student Debt

Five Iowa colleges have launched new resources to assist professors, administrators and other employees with repayment of their student debt. Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), Grand View University, Iowa Wesleyan University, St. Ambrose University and Wartburg College have partnered with Aspire Resources, Inc. as some of the first national employers to offer these solutions as a way to attract and retain talent in today’s highly competitive workforce. “One of the many things that make Iowa independent colleges and universities great is their faculty and staff,” says Executive Director of the Iowa Higher Education Loan Authority, Maribeth Wright. “We know that many of these individuals are similar to their students in that they too face the stress of paying for their advanced education. We commend all of these colleges for finding a solution and supporting their employees.” Part of the benefits offered include a refinancing option that can help reduce costs on existing loans and simplify repayment. DMACC and Wesleyan are also offering the program’s Financial Wellness component, which includes financial literacy tools to help navigate the complexities of financing a college education. These two options are being offered at no cost to the colleges.
