Storm Lake’s Police Chief and Public Safety Director, Mark Prosser, will be joining law enforcement members and leaders from across the country at a national immigration forum. The annual convention, Leading the Way: An American Approach to Immigration, is being held Thursday, Nov. 15 in Washington, D.C. This is a bipartisan effort to discuss strategies and practical reform that addresses the needs and anxieties of everyday Americans. The conversation will be led by Republican Senator from Oklahoma, James Lankford, and Democratic Senator from Colorado, Michael Bennet. Topics will include what the outcomes of the mid-term election mean for the immigration debate, the economic input of immigrants and refugees as well as the impact immigration has on America’s culture and Americans’ way of life.
