A Storm Lake man is being held without bond after strangling a woman into unconsciousness. The Storm Lake Police Department responded to a call for assistance from the victim at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with and detained 26-year-old Roberto Gonzalez. The adult female alleged that Gonzalez had arrived home from work and an argument erupted. Gonzalez then began choking the victim with his hands until she passed out. When she regained consciousness, she contacted authorities. The victim was examined by Buena Vista County Paramedics, and Gonzalez was subsequently charged with domestic assault while impeding the flow of air or blood, an aggravated misdemeanor.
