A well-known former Hawkeyes quarterback, Chuck Long, will be making stops around the region in the coming weeks to discuss a recently released book that chronicles his journey from an unknown and unrecruited player to a record-breaking Big 10 quarterback. “Chuck Long: Destined for Greatness” was written by Aaron Putze, and both he and Long will also be giving brief presentations and offering book signings at three separate events. Their first appearance is on Friday, Dec. 14 at the Templeton Community Center. Beginning at 6 p.m., Long will talk about his time with the Hawkeyes and his stint in the NFL. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at the door. Long and Putze make their next stop on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson at 7 p.m. They then travel to the Coon Rapids Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 18 for another presentation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Hardbound copies of the book can be purchased for $30 at each of the events, with softbound copies also available for $20. Long and Putze will be available to take photos, meet with fans and sign books at all three of the programs.
