Kuemper High School Mission Project To Be Completed On Fat Tuesday

In recognition of Fat Tuesday on March 5, the Kuemper High School students will be completing a service project that began earlier this year. The student council-led initiative began with a t-shirt drive, at which everyone was encouraged to bring and donate t-shirts they no longer wear. More than 1,000 of these were collected and some will find a new home with the people of Honduras, and about 90 of them will be converted for another use on Tuesday. The student council has asked each class to bring specific items with them to school that day. The freshman are to bring candy, sophomores bars of soap, the juniors were asked to bring toothpaste and toothbrushes and the seniors colors and coloring books. The items will be collected in the morning and then in the afternoon, the entire high school student body has the option of either helping to make bags from the t-shirts and fill them or to participate in or watch the intramural basketball tournament in the gymnasium. The bags will be delivered to the people of Honduras during the upcoming mission trip in April.
