Agency providing worthwhile services receives funding match from Carroll County Supervisor

On Monday the Carroll County Supervisors approved funding to the Elderbridge Agency on Aging which serves just under 5,000 elderly residents in Carroll County.  Supervisor Marty Danzer says the requested $13,798 match fund request helps provide a very valuable service.

The return on the county’s match fund is considered to be returned at 3,396% as the agency spends $33.96 for every $1.00 provided by the county. For example, the total cost to provide meals in Carroll County was $176,264 for 2014-2015. The agency provided 2,738 meals at its site in Carroll while in Coon Rapids and Manning 2,904 and 6,880 meals were served respectively. Even more elderly residents took advantage of the Meals on Wheels service which provided 14,996 meals originating from the Carroll site which were delivered to homes in the region while at the Coon Rapids and Manning sites 1,976 and 8,807 meals were also delivered respectively. The Elderbridge Agency on Aging not only provides a hot meal to county residents, but also offers nutritional education, transportation services, legal aid, and more.
