No injuries were reported after a vehicle crashed through the wall of a Carroll restaurant Thursday morning. At approximately 10:54 a.m., the Carroll Police Department was dispatched to M.C.’s Country Café in the 700 block of U.S. Highway 30. According to law enforcement, a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by 73-year-old Harriette Jerome Best of Social Circle, Ga., was attempting to park her vehicle on the east side of the building and pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake. The van collided with the building and broke through the outer wall. Damage is estimated at $3,000 to the vehicle and $8,000 to the structure. Witnesses inside the restaurant said it is fortunate nobody was hurt, as several people were eating at the corner table only five minutes before the accident. Best was evaluated at the scene by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services but was not transported for treatment. No citations were issued because the accident occurred on private property.
