Sac County Farmers Presented 2019 Pork All-American Award At Iowa Pork Congress

Fifth-generation farmers, Aaron and Alyce Nieland of rural Breda, have been named recipients of the 2019 Pork All-American Award by the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA). The Nielands finish and market approximately 20,000 pigs annually, farm nearly 400 acres of row crops and are contract growers for AMVC in Audubon. Alyce oversees the pig barns while Aaron runs their expanding crop operation. The Pork All-American Award was created in 1970 to honor producers under 40 years of age who have established themselves as community leaders and successful business people. In 2017, the Nielands were recognized by the IPPA as Master Pork Producers. They have three children under the age of 10: Aisha, Will and Ellie. When not on the farm, the Nielands are active within their church, the Sac County Pork Producers and local little league teams. The award was presented during the Iowa Pork Congress in Des Moines in January.
