As of Tuesday afternoon, Carroll County has five COVID-19 positive cases. Director of Carroll County Public Health, Nikki Schwering, says that as we see the numbers rise in Iowa, more testing is being conducted and more laboratories are processing them. This, Schwering says, has resulted in a periodic lag time in making the information public. She stresses that no matter where the test is administered in the county, that number gets reported back to her office as the central point of coordination. But as they continue to make patients and their care a priority, Carroll County Public Health is changing their public reporting procedures. They will continue to update and relay the case numbers to residents as soon as possible and will now release cumulative case numbers each Friday. State and local numbers will also continue to be updated regularly online at coronavirus.iowa.gov.
