As of next Monday, May 18, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office will re-open for weapons permits and fingerprinting. This will be by appointment only and all other departments in the courthouse will remain closed. To ensure the safety of the public and staff, there are several guidelines that must be followed. Anyone wishing to make an appointment can do so by calling 712-792-4393. They must specify whether they are coming in for fingerprinting or a weapons permit and only one person will be allowed in the office at a time. The individual must bring their own mask and wear it while in the building. No masks will be provided. At the designated appointment time, report to the lower-level doors on the east side of the courthouse. Enter the vestibule and use the buzzer to summon a jailer who will conduct a screening before entry will be allowed.
